The Southern Cross Care Myrtle Bank redevelopment was a multi-stage project that required careful planning and execution. ASGS began with asbestos removal and demolition works across ten properties, safely preparing the site for future development.
Stage two, managed by Sarah Construction, involved large-scale remediation works, with over 4,000 tonnes of asbestos-contaminated soil safely removed from the site. This critical step ensured the land was compliant and ready for redevelopment.
Stage three, also under Sarah Construction, included the detailed demolition of the Archbishop’s headquarters. This phase required specialised techniques to protect the integrity of the adjacent heritage building, demonstrating ASGS’s precision and commitment to sensitive demolition practices.
The project was completed on time and within budget. Despite significant challenges, particularly around heritage preservation, ASGS successfully delivered a safe, efficient, and high-quality outcome, reinforcing its reputation for managing complex demolition and remediation projects in sensitive environments.
