ASGS was engaged by Delta Group to undertake a comprehensive lead dust remediation project throughout the ceiling and front veranda of the former Planet Nightclub. This project was a pioneering effort in South Australia, establishing new benchmarks for lead removal procedures.
To guarantee safety and efficiency, ASGS invested in state-of-the-art HEPA-filtered vacuum systems, as conventional equipment proved inadequate and prone to overheating. This ensured the effective containment and removal of hazardous lead dust.
Prior to commencement, all staff underwent baseline blood testing to confirm no contamination. Upon project completion, follow-up tests verified that no lead exposure had occurred, underscoring ASGS’s commitment to protecting worker health and safety.
Close collaboration with the Adelaide City Council, Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), and Delta Group’s environmental consultant ensured that every stage of the project adhered to strict regulatory standards. Final readings confirmed a safe environment for both workers and the wider community.
This project not only addressed a critical environmental and public health concern but also cemented ASGS’s reputation for leading best practices in hazardous material management across South Australia.
